New to beta testing? Here's what you need to know:

• You'll need some technical skills, like knowing how to:
  • Burn an ISO file to make an install DVD (A good example of what we mean by “technical”)
  • Install Windows (of course)
  • Backup and restore your PC (There's a chance of losing files, so it's a good idea to do a backup of anything you want to save.)
  • Set up a network
  It can be glitchy—so don't use a PC you need every day.

• Minimum recommended specs call for:
  • 1 GHz 32-bit or 64-bit processor
  • 1 GB of system memory
  • 16 GB of available disk space
  • Support for DirectX 9 graphics with 128 MB memory (to enable the Aero theme)
  • DVD-R/W Drive
  • Internet access (to download the Beta and get updates)
  And yes, like anything tech-related, these specs could change.

• Some product features of Windows 7, such as the ability to watch and record live TV or navigation through the use of "touch," may require advanced or additional hardware.
• You'll need a system recovery disk (and know how to use it).
• You're [almost] flying solo: you'll need to troubleshoot problems yourself and call on other Beta testers for their know-how.
• It's a two-way thing—Beta testing is about feedback so our developers can fix bugs and hear what appeals to the people who use our products daily. Please tell us what you think.
• Watch the calendar. The Beta expires on August 1, 2009. To continue using your PC, please be prepared to reinstall a prior version of Windows or a subsequent release of Windows 7 before the expiration date. (See installation instructions.)

Process-Explorer V.11.02

Process Explorer shows you information about which handles and DLLs processes have opened or loaded. The Process Explorer display consists of two sub-windows. The top always shows a list of the currently active processes, including the names of their owning accounts, whereas the information displayed in the bottom window depends on the mode that Process Explorer is in: if it is in handle mode youll see the handles that the process selected in the top window has opened; if Process Explorer is in DLL mode youll see the DLLs and memory-mapped files that the process has loaded. of ACE archive using the drag and drop.

LimeWire is an excellent P2P file-sharing client

software letting users download and share various types of computer files, including pictures, movies, games, and text documents. LimeWire has nice multiple search tabbed interface. It allows user to search for multiple files at the same time. Usage
When it comes to downloading programs such as games, images, documents, videos, MP3’s and other audio files you need to look no farther than LimeWire. The creators of this software have given us a unique way to get what we want or need in one P2P or Peer-to-Peer program. It uses a Java Platform to run, and Gnutella a file sharing network to scan your computer for downloadable files. You can find files shared through LimeWire in the Digital Audio Access Protocol, which is designed to keep track of media shared across the Network.

Cons
There are a few cons to LimeWire, such as if you want even faster downloads you need to purchase LimeWire Pro. You will also get a few warnings about there being a virus or Trojan, however you this warning is displayed on your screen before your download will begin. However, the free version will tell you before you begin the download. You may also see someone downloading files from your pc. When it comes to this do not worry though, it is very common with P2P programs. You can see what they are downloading and stop it if you want to.

Pros
The pros to LimeWire are as vast as its resources. You can download and try out programs that would normally cost you a lot of money. You can also download an entire CD, and burn it to disk. Some of the other Peer-to-Peer programs do not have this feature even though they advertise it. During the startup of the program, it has a Tips and Tricks screen that popup. These help you use LimeWire even more efficiently. A huge pro is the download time and availability of finding and installing LimeWire itself. You do not have to be a computer expert just an internet surfer.
It is designed to run on Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X, and RPM or Red Hat Package Manager, unfortunately the Mac OS 9 was dropped when LimeWire 4.0 came out in 2004. You will also find the programs requiring a product will have one somewhere in the download itself.

Summary and Rating
If you are one of those who find that the basic and free version no longer suit your needs, you can upgrade to LimeWire Pro for 19.95 United States Dollars or 9.65 Pounds. LimeWire originally produced as LimeShop and was once considered to be spy ware, however since it came out in 2004 that has no longer been an issue.
When it comes to summarizing this program, the list is endless. I cannot give enough praise to this program. My family and I are always looking for fun things to do and LimeWire gives us this, with just a little bit of our time.
